O'Devs Website Refresh Update: New Features, Contributions, and Next Steps

We’ve made some fantastic progress with the O'Devs Website Refresh Project, and I wanted to take a moment to share everything we've covered in our latest meeting, as well as the exciting updates that have followed.

Meeting Highlights:

Transition to Astro:
We’re working on a new branch of the website using Astro, leaving the current site untouched for now. This approach allows us to explore and implement new features without disrupting the existing site.
Project Goals:
- Integrated event management system with calendar support.
- Enhanced sponsorship framework with dynamic sponsor cards.
- Mobile-first navigation with button-based menus.
- Streamlined contributor pathways to encourage collaboration.
- Primal engineering methodologies for seamless system operability.
AI Integration:
The Orlando Devs Website Engineer AI Engine continues to grow. It now houses all the project documentation, including today’s meeting transcript, which has been assimilated into its knowledge base.
David Kerr’s Updates:
- Progress on the Astro application structure.
- React and Tailwind integration for responsive design.
- Early prototype for event pages with card-based layout improvements.
- Next steps: Obtaining permission to migrate the new branch to the O'Devs repository for team-wide contributions.
Next Steps:
- Prepare for our upcoming contributor training meeting: O'Devs Development Meeting: O'Devs Contributor Guide for Dummies.
- Set up contributor environments, including pull request workflows.
